A message from our Director

The Washington Service Corps is an AmeriCorps program striving toward equity. A program designed to help both those in service and those whom we stand alongside strengthening communities. We know too, that the arc of the moral universe that bends toward justice has been a long and painful journey for Black Americans in the United States. We believe that as a country we must find ways to make amends; we must continue to strive to understand each other; we must serve to repair the mistakes of the past and we must create a new paradigm of greater equity for the future. We stand with those who recognize that Black Lives Matter.

We encourage our members and site partners to educate themselves on the long history of racism and to be authentic allies for those that have felt its sting. Below are some resources that may be of use to you as we continue on this journey together.

Submit your ideas using our learning community form, and send to your WRC Coordinator. Then check back on our website for a list of strategies from members across the state!
