Information Sharing - URGENT: Disability Representation Needed at Pandemic Advisory Board
Hello all,
As you may know, the Seattle Foundation is collecting donations from the COVID-19 Response Fund. This multi-million dollar fund will provide resources to organizations working with communities that are disproportionately impacted by the virus. The King County Pandemic Community Advisory Group (PCAG) is advising on the use and allocation of these funds.
While at its core COVID-19 is a disability issue, there are currently only two disability organizations represented: Aging and Disability Services and Open Doors for Multicultural Families (recent addition which is not yet listed). This leaves a large portion of the disability community unrepresented in a crucial conversation.
We are asking you to please sign on to the attached letter and urge King County to have people with disabilities on their Pandemic Community Advisory Group. If you are interested in signing on, by Wednesday (3/25) at 5pm please send me: name of organization, name of individual, title, and email address. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your attention and timely response,
Darya Farivar
