Nomination period ends Feb. 24
Hello, Ecology!
I believe public service is a calling, and the work we do every day to protect our environment makes a positive difference to the more than 7 million people who call Washington their home.
For the past 30 years, the first full week of May has been set aside as Public Service Recognition Week to honor those who serve our nation as federal, state, county, and local government employees.
In Washington, we have a long history of celebrating and honoring the work of our public employees. Both Director Watson and I want to make sure the great work of Ecology employees can be broadly recognized and honored through the public service recognition awards.
The opportunity to nominate a co-worker, employee, supervisor, or a whole team — anyone you think has gone above and beyond and deserves recognition for their dedication to public service at Ecology — is open now!
You can nominate state government and higher education employees and teams for the Extra Mile Award.
Some quick facts:
- ✔️ Any state employee can nominate an individual or team for the award.
- ⏳ Nominations are due by Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024.
