We have started the process of reissuing the Industrial Stormwater General Permit. General permits are on a five-year cycle and the Industrial Stormwater General Permit is set to expire on Dec. 31, 2024. We aim to make a decision on the permit updates prior to the permit’s expiration date.
As part of Ecology’s Industrial Stormwater General Permit reissuance process, we are holding five informal listening sessions. Four of these events are online, and one is in person. The purpose of these listening sessions is to provide an opportunity for the public and permittees to hear about Ecology’s early thinking on changes to the permit and provide feedback. This is an early feedback opportunity, draft permit language is not yet available. The formal hearings for the draft permit will take place in 2024.

Parking for listening session at Ecology Headquarters
Note: Parking at the Ecology Headquarters building is very limited due to construction. Carpooling or other alternative means of travel are strongly recommended. A few alternative suggestions are provided below.
Carpool
Coordinate with other outside meeting attendees to carpool to the building. Rideshare Online has a tool allowing for one time event carpooling.
Take the bus
Park near the Lacey Transit Station and take the bus. There is a bus stop at the bottom of Desmond Drive (Route 62B). Meeting attendees can also get on the Intercity Transit bus system anywhere in Thurston County and ride it to Ecology. Intercity Transit information is available at 360-786-1881 or on the Intercity Website.
Walk
Park for free and walk from the Martin Way Park and Ride.
