Changes to Alternative Living Program Service Code
On Jan. 1, the service code and unit type for Alternative Living Program was changed from SA724 which was an hourly code to SA727 U1 which is a 1/4 hour unit code. This means that every full hour of service should be claimed as 4 units. If a provider works for less than a full hour, they should round up to the nearest 1/4 hour when claiming. SA724 has been discontinued from use as of Dec. 31, 2023.
Authorizations were changed by DDA Headquarters Payment Team staff to reflect the new code and unit type. This message has been sent to AL providers.
