Anticipated Changes to Temporary Rate Increase - January 1, 2024
In 2020, Federal American Rescue Plan Act funding was included in the state budget, and a portion of it was applied as a temporary rate increase for contracted providers. The funding affected Community Residential Providers, which includes the following programs and services:
- Children: Child Foster Care, Child Group Care, Out-of-Home Services.
- Adults: Group Homes, Group Training Homes, Supported Living, Supported Living - Community Protection, Companion Homes, Alternative Living.
In accordance with the ESSB 5693 (2022 Supplemental Budget Bill) Section 204(1)(u), this temporary rate increase will be reduced every six months beginning starting July 1, 2022 and be fully phased out of the state budget by July 1, 2024.
Beginning January 1, 2024, your temporary rate increase will be 1.6%, reflecting the fourth phase of the step-down.
Additional information regarding the final reductions to your temporary rate increase will be sent in six months, prior to the change.
