DDA Proudly Recognizes Direct Support Professionals!
National Direct Support Professionals Week is September 11 - 17, 2022. This is a week to recognize and show appreciation for providers who support individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
We recognize the vital contributions that our DSPs provide to individuals and families. DSPs play an important role in assisting our clients to reach their full potential and maximize their independence. They provide physical and emotional support to our client's on a daily basis.
Thank you for the dedication and commitment you provide every day. Thank you for all that you do.
Appreciations from some members of DDA’s Leadership Team
I believe that the direct care staff are the most important foundation of the work we do. Working 8 – 16 hours a day with our clientele makes them an invaluable asset. Their thoughts and ideas along with growing knowledge of regulating guidance is paramount in our success.
Michael Crane/ Interim Superintendent – Rainier School
Each of you have made a big difference in the lives of the people we support. I want you to know that all the little things you do every day make a huge difference for the residents at Yakima Valley School. Every day I appreciate the commitment and follow-through you've shown during your employment with us. Thank you for all the hard work you put in daily! Know that it is recognized and greatly appreciated. It amazes me how each of you step in and save the day in difficult situations! Thanks for being so dedicated!
Tammy Winegar/Superintendent - Yakima Valley School
Direct Support Professionals are the very heart of our service. Our mission is to empower people with Developmental Disabilities to live the lives they want, and the Direct Support Professionals who give our clients the opportunities to do that every day are the core of our work. I am continually amazed by the skills and dedication of our Attendant Care Counselors who provide direct support. It is rewarding to see the relationships that they build and the outcomes that they work with our clients to achieve!
Sandra Miller/Deputy Director of State Operated Community Residential Program
Our administration’s success is a direct result of your efforts. I hope you know how valuable and important you are, not only to this administration but to the clients we serve. It takes a special person to be a direct support professional. You bring passion and compassion to every shift, and it is your genuine actions that make a difference in the lives of the people we serve. Thank you for all that you do!
