Dear Residential Service Provider:
This notice is to remind you to submit timely cost-of-care adjustments (COCA) according to DDA Policy 6.02.
During the public health emergency, exceptions to the timelines for submission of COCAs listed in DDA Policy 6.02 were liberally granted. Effective Sept. 1, 2022, COCAs will be approved on the basis that their submission follows policy timelines as below:
- Notify your resource manager of the need for a COCA no more than five business days after a client’s departure.
- Complete a separate DSHS 06-124, Cost-of-Care Adjustment Request, for each calendar month the client is absent.
- Submit the form(s) to your resource manager no more than 30 business days after the client’s return.
- If the client’s absence continues into the next calendar month, submit a form to your resource manager no more than 30 business days after the end of the first calendar month and a separate form no more than 30 days after the client’s return.
For further help in submitting COCAs, please contact your resource manager.
