The Disability Inclusion Network (DIN) has announced a special event for Autism Awareness Month. It’s called Autism Inclusion.
When: Tuesday, April 19, 2022
Time: 12 to 1 p.m.
Who: Zack Siddeek, the Disability Systems Navigation Coordinator for the ARC of King County will present.
According to the Disability Inclusion Network this event will be virtual. ASL Interpreter and Zoom Live Captioning will be available. The event will be recorded and made available after the presentation.
Topics covered will include:
- Brief description of autism
- Person first versus identity first, and models of disability
- Autism and the intersectionality with race, LGBTQ+ and gender
- Autism and trauma
- Sensory differences, social communication, executive functioning, and accommodations

The Zoom Link will state the time of the event as 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The presentation is from 12 to 1 p.m. They will begin admitting attendees around 11:50 to 11:55 a.m.
