Updated COVID-19 Reporting Requirements for Employment and Day Program Providers

This message provides updates for DSHS’ Employment and Day Program providers regarding DDA COVID-19 reporting requirements.

Background:

Since the onset of the pandemic and based on initial instruction, Employment/Day providers have been completing incident reports for COVID-19 staff and client positive cases.

What's changed or clarified:

  1. Effective immediately, providers no longer need to submit an incident report to DDA for COVID-19 positive staff.
  2. Providers need to report client COVID-19 positive cases to DDA following the one working-day standard. COVID-19-related client hospitalizations or life-threatening conditions must still be reported within one hour, and a written report must follow within one work day.

Thank you to all Employment and Day providers for your continued commitment to support people with developmental disabilities throughout this pandemic.
