N95 fit testing update

Dear Supported Living, Group Training Homes and Group Home Providers,

As you continue to prepare for possible outbreaks, such as the virus that causes COVID-19, there is updated information from the Washington State Department of Health about N95 fit testing:

  1. After Dec. 31, 2021, respirator training for fit testing will be updated and will be located on DOH's respiratory protection web page.
  2. The contract that provided testing teams for fit testing across the state will end Dec. 31.
  3. DOH Occupational Health nurses will continue to provide Train the Trainer fit testing for agencies who wish to do their own fit testing.  DOH Occupational Health nurse will also continue to respond to outbreaks per the local health jurisdiction request.
  4. Online medical clearance that is needed to start the fit testing process will continue to be free of cost.  After Dec. 31, email HAI-FitTest@doh.wa.gov to access this system.
