Unsung Heroes Honored

Developmental Disabilities Administration

May 20, 2020

The Department of Social and Health Services and the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) understands the impact this pandemic has had on state operated and contracted residential providers. The past few months have presented extraordinary and unprecedented challenges.

The RHCs, state operated community residential programs, and our contracted providers have all been affected. We routinely get reports about the exceptional work that front line staff are doing in the face of this crisis.

We appreciate all of you out there on the front line, working in our facilities and for community programs. As a tribute to the front line staff, DDA will be profiling some of our heroes and publishing a series of stories in the coming weeks.

The following are some profiles and a story featuring our "Unsung Heroes." Meet some of the heroes working the front lines at the RHCs and some of our contracted Community Residential Providers affected by COVID-19.

Thank you,

Evelyn Perez/ Assistant Secretary
