New Agreement between DDA and DVR

Developmental Disabilities Administration Update

February 13, 2019

August 2018 marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and DDA. The goal is to improve employment outcomes for shared clients who experience intellectual or developmental disabilities. DVR and DDA will accomplish this goal through cross-agency collaboration and seamless, consistent service delivery.

DVR and DDA have a longstanding relationship, and this MOU helps serve shared clients who experience disability-related barriers to employment.

Based on the MOU principles, DVR and DDA finalized the DDA Referral and Case Management Guidelines and the DVR Process for Serving DDA Eligible Individuals Referred from DDA or a Third Party and intend to implement these new processes by the end of April 2019.

DVR and DDA local and regional leadership have identified a liaison for every office. DVR and DDA are providing training for staff and community partners. Training will include an overview of the MOU and provide information for liaisons to support local office staff who implement the referral procedures.

DVR and DDA offer a joint WebEx cross-agency training:

  • March 26, 9:30 - 11 a.m. - For DVR and DDA staff and community partners
