Updates
Dear Residential Providers:
Background
The training requirements related to RCW 74.39A (formerly known as 1163)
for Community Residential Services Businesses which includes Supported Living,
Group Homes, and Group Training Homes, went into effect January 1, 2016. July
1, 2017 the updated WAC 388-829 also includes all DD contracted settings to
include Children’s Licensed Staff Residential
(LSR), Alternative Living (AL), and Companion Homes (CH) under the definition
of “Community Residential Service Businesses”. This message is to provide you
with an update on information relevant to training requirements.

The Training Calendars is in full swing! I will be in a different Region every month! Every other month will be interchanging Residential 40 Hour CORE and Train the Trainer CE Series.

Curriculum Updates from DSHS/DDA:
Online CE
Courses: Thank you trainers and providers for reporting issues! I am working on them and continually
improving these trainings. Please continue
to use the trainings while we are tweaking the technical challenges. Remember an approved trainer will need to
sign the online CE certificate that each participants prints after completing
the training.
Facilitator
Guides: I am in the process of reviewing Facilitator Guides for both the 40 hour
CORE and CE courses so I can better integrate the training materials with the
PowerPoint presentations. Please keep
your feedback coming. This will be an
ongoing process and please use what is available on the website now.
MORE online CE
courses COMING in 2018! I am
teaming up with DDA’s central office training team members. We are planning to develop 8 new online CE
Course (worth 1-2 Units) over the next few months.
