Electronic visit verification (EVV) requirements for home care agencies*
Attention Home Care Agencies: This is a reminder that effective January 1, 2026, all claims for Personal Care Services and Respite Care Services must include all required EVV elements. Claims submitted without all of the required elements will be denied. Don’t be caught off guard! Check your claim files NOW to ensure that all EVV elements are included so your agency experiences a seamless transition.
Questions or concerns? We can help! Schedule a meeting with Jennifer Smith, DSHS's EVV Program Manager, for a review of your agency’s claim submission EVV compliance.
*This only applies to Home Care Agencies and does not apply to other Social Services Provider types.
Need help with CBHS services?
Attention Residential Providers: Do you have questions about how to bill for Community Behavioral Health Support (CBHS) services? Or maybe questions about how to contract with the managed care organizations (MCO)? Are you having trouble and not sure where to turn for help?
The Health Care Authority (HCA) offers weekly rapid response calls and weekly office hours for DSHS Residential Providers (AFH, ESF, ALF, EARC). These calls provide time to ask questions, share concerns and experiences working w/ CBHS, and get assistance with the ProviderOne application:
-
CBHS rapid response calls
Rapid response calls are for providers who have CBHS clients and have questions for HCA or MCOs about billing, contracting, or authorizations. Mondays, 8-8:30 a.m. Join Teams meeting (no registration required)
-
CBHS office hours
Office hours are for providers who have questions for HCA about CBHS or who need help completing the ProviderOne application. Tuesdays, 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Join Teams meeting (no registration required)

Monthly FAQ: Who do I contact if I have questions or need help with ProviderOne?
As a Social Services Provider, you may need to contact the Health Care Authority (HCA), the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), and/or an Area Agency on Aging (AAA) depending on your question. A detailed list of who to contact can be found on the Social Services Provider Contact List.
Please note: HCA and DSHS do not offer 'in-person' provider assistance. Providers must call or email the appropriate contact if they have questions or need assistance. When in doubt, or if you aren't sure who to contact, contact your client's case manager or your contract specialist and they can point you in the right direction!
