Southbound I-405 full closure in Bothell for pedestrian bridge removal, Oct. 30-Nov. 2

Canyon Park Pedestrian bridge to close Oct. 30 until 2028

BOTHELL – Travelers should expect delays this Halloween weekend, Oct. 30-Nov. 2, as crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation close southbound Interstate 405 in Bothell. Crews will remove a portion of the pedestrian bridge over I-405 at the Canyon Park Park and Ride to make space to widen I-405 in Bothell.

Closure details

All lanes of southbound I-405 will close from State Route 527 to SR 522 in Bothell starting at 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, to 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2 as part of the I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project. A detour will be in place.

The following southbound ramps will also close:

  • I-405 on-ramp to SR 527
  • I-405 on-/off-ramps to Northeast 195th Street (Exit 24)
  • I-405 off-ramps to SR 522 (Exit 23)

Crews will close the pedestrian bridge at the Canyon Park Park and Ride at 12:01 a.m. Friday morning, Oct. 30 to remove sections of the bridge above southbound I-405. Travelers needing to cross I-405 can take transit routes 106 or 120 or follow signs for the temporary construction shuttle. The southbound ST 532 and ST 525 will board at temporary Bay B inside the park and ride. More information about the transit reroute is available on the Community Transit blog. Crews plan to remove the section of pedestrian bridge above northbound I-405 the following weekend, Nov. 6-9. A new pedestrian bridge is planned to open in 2028.

Travelers are also advised of delays on both major north/south routes through the Puget Sound Region as crews working on the Revive I-5: Ship Canal Bridge Preservation project close all lanes of northbound I-5 through Seattle. “Know before you go," or, if possible, delay discretionary travel to help minimize backups.

Schedule updates will be available on WSDOT’s Travel Center map, the WSDOT mobile app and by signing up for email updates. Additional construction and closure information is available on the WSDOT Engage page.
