I-405/SR 167 Program: SR 167 Implementation Plan

Ed. 10 | Oct. 6, 2026

Welcome to latest edition of the I-405/SR 167 Program newsletter, where we provide regular updates about impactful construction along the corridor.

People traveling southbound throughout the Puget Sound region should expect delays this weekend, Oct. 9-12, as all lanes of southbound I-405 in Bothell will close as a part of the I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project.

In this issue, you’ll find the latest closure information, a summary of work completed since last weekend, and a preview of what’s coming next so you can “know before you go.”

What’s happening this week

Southbound I-405 full closure in Bothell, Oct. 9-12

Southbound I-405 will close from SR 527 to SR 522 starting from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 to 4 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12. A signed detour will be in place. Crews will work on drainage, pavement reconstruction and bridge repair.

The following ramps will also close:

  • SR 527 on-ramp to southbound I-405
  • Northeast 195th on-/off-ramps to I-405
  • SR 522 off-ramp to southbound I-405

People should expect heavier traffic and longer travel times on southbound I-5 and through Bothell, as drivers shift their routes during the closure. Travelers may experience additional congestion Sunday, Oct. 11, when the Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers at Lumen Field.

Additionally, northbound I-5 in Seattle is reduced to two lanes across the Ship Canal Bridge until the end of 2026 as part of the Revive I-5 Ship Canal Bridge Preservation project.
