SR 542 Road to Artist Point to close Sept. 30-Oct. 1 for maintenance
GLACIER – State Route 542/Mount Baker Highway Road to Artist Point (milepost 47-54) will close daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30 and Thursday, Oct. 1.
This road closure will allow Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews to safely prepare the highway for the annual winter closure by making pavement and road shoulder repairs and removing hazardous trees.
People who recreate throughout the year should visit the Glacier Public Service Center to get required permits and check weather conditions ahead of their outdoor adventures.
