Eastbound I-90 reducing to one lane Sept. 18-20 in Bellevue for bridge work, paving
Weeknight lane and ramp closures Sept. 14-18 precede weekend construction
BELLEVUE – Eastbound Interstate 90 will reduce to one lane from Friday night to Sunday afternoon, Sept. 18-20, near the I-405 interchange in Bellevue for paving and repairs to the freeway bridge crossing over Richards Road.
Nightly eastbound I-90 lane and ramp closures in the same area begin Monday night, Sept. 14, through Friday morning, Sept. 18, for lane striping within the work zone.
Weekend closures Sept. 18-20
The following closures will be in place from 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20:
- Three left lanes of eastbound I-90 near the I-405 interchange.
- Eastbound I-90 HOV off-ramp to Bellevue Way Southeast.
Lane reductions will begin on Mercer Island and build to three left lane closures at Richards Road. At least one lane of eastbound I-90 will remain open throughout the weekend.
People traveling in the area should expect congestion and delays on eastbound I-90 and nearby local streets. This work is weather dependent and could be rescheduled due to rain.
Weeknight closures Sept. 14-17
The following closures begin as early as 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning:
Monday night, Sept. 14
- One lane of eastbound I-90 near the I-405 interchange.
- Bellevue Way Southeast on-ramp to eastbound I-90.
- Eastbound I-90 off-ramp to Factoria Boulevard Southeast.
Tuesday night, Sept. 15
- Westbound I-90 HOV lane near the I-405 interchange.
Wednesday night, Sept. 16
- Eastbound I-90 HOV off-ramp to 142nd Place Southeast.
Thursday night, Sept. 17
- Eastbound I-90 off-ramps to 148th and 150th streets southeast.
Signed detours will guide people around ramp closures.
This work is part of a project that has repaved nearly 2 miles of eastbound I-90 in Bellevue. Construction is expected to wind down in October, pending favorable weather and site conditions.
