I-405/Northeast 85th Street interchange closure in Kirkland for electrical installation, Sept. 11-14
Overnight lane reductions on southbound I-405 also planned in Bothell for traffic switch, Sept. 11-12
KIRKLAND – Travelers should plan for closures on the north end of the Interstate 405 corridor in Kirkland and Bothell during the Sept. 11-14 weekend. Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close the I-405/Northeast 85th Street interchange in Kirkland from Sept. 11-14 and conduct overnight lane reductions on southbound I-405 in Bothell Sept. 11-12.
I-405/Northeast 85th Street interchange closure in Kirkland, Sept. 11-14
The northbound and southbound I-405 on- and off-ramps (Exit 18) in Kirkland will close from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14. Detours will be in place.
Northeast 85th Street will also close between Sixth Street and 120th Avenue Northeast. Crews will conduct electrical installation and prepare Northeast 85th Street for paving as part of the I-405/Northeast 85th Street Interchange and Inline BRT Station Project.
Overnight rolling slowdowns on southbound I-405 in Bothell, Sept. 11-12
Up to three lanes of southbound I-405 will close between SR 522 and Northeast 160th Street from 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 to 5 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12. The eastbound and westbound SR 522 ramps to southbound I-405 will also close during this time.
Crews will conduct rolling slowdowns during the lane reductions where they will stop traffic for up to 15 minutes at a time between 11:59 p.m. and 4 a.m. Crews will conduct a traffic shift as part of the I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project.
“Know before you go," and, if possible, delay discretionary travel to help minimize backups.
Work is dependent on good weather and may be rescheduled. Schedule updates will be available on WSDOT’s Travel Center map, the WSDOT mobile app and by signing up for I-405/SR 167 Program email updates.
