Overnight lane, ramp closures along I-405 and SR 520 Eastside corridors start Monday, Aug. 31

KIRKLAND – Overnight lane and ramp closures along multiple state highways in King County will begin Monday, Aug. 31, for crack sealing and pavement repair.

Signed detours will guide people around ramp closures each night and delays are possible traveling around each work zone.

Closure details
The following closures are planned from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning unless noted.

Monday, Aug. 31

  • Three right lanes of northbound Interstate 405 between Northeast 14th Street and Northeast 72nd Place.
  • Two right lanes of northbound I-405 between Northeast 116th Street and Northeast 145th Street.
  • The northbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 124th Street and Totem Lake Boulevard.
  • From 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the eastbound and westbound State Route 520 off-ramp to northbound I-405.

Tuesday, Sept. 1

  • Three left lanes of northbound I-405 between Northeast 124th Street/Totem Lake Mall and Northeast 160th Street.
  • The Northeast 128th Street on- and off-ramps for the northbound I-405 express toll lanes.
  • Three left lanes of northbound I-405 between Northeast 14th Street and Northeast 53rd Street.

Wednesday, Sept. 2

  • Three left lanes of northbound I-405 between Northeast 124th Street/Totem Lake Mall and Northeast 160th Street.
  • The Northeast 128th Street on- and off-ramps for the northbound I-405 express toll lanes.
  • Three left lanes of northbound I-405 between Northeast 14th Street and Northeast 53rd Street.
  • Two right lanes of southbound I-405 between Northeast 124th Street/Totem Lake Mall and Northeast 145th Street.
  • Two right lanes of southbound I-405 between Northeast 14th Street and SR 520.
  • The westbound SR 520 off-ramp to I-405.
  • The southbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 124th Street.

Thursday, Sept. 3

  • Two right lanes of southbound I-405 between Northeast 124th Street/Totem Lake Mall and Northeast 145th Street.
  • Two right lanes of southbound I-405 between Northeast 14th Street and SR 520.
  • The westbound SR 520 off-ramp to southbound I-405.
  • The southbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 124th Street.

This is part of a regional pavement repair project addressing more than 70 locations in King, Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom counties. These roadway improvements extend the life of the roadway and improve the driving surface.
