Two days of northbound I-5 lane reductions in Bellingham start Saturday, Aug. 15, for maintenance

BELLINGHAM – Northbound Interstate 5 will be reduced to a single lane for two days beginning Saturday, Aug 15, in Bellingham.

Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will replace concrete panels during the lane reductions, creating a smoother ride for people traveling through the area.

What to expect
From 6 to 10 a.m. daily Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 15-16, northbound I-5 will be reduced to a single lane between Samish Way and Texas Street (mileposts 252-254). People traveling in the area should plan for delays and do their part to keep the road crew safe by slowing down and removing distractions.

The Iowa Street on-ramp to northbound I-5 also will close from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15.

This work needs dry weather, and one or more days may be rescheduled if it rains.
