Weekend roadwork with one-way alternating traffic on SR 7 near Alder Lake Aug. 1-2

ALDER – Folks planning weekend travel on the State Route 7 Mountain Highway near Alder Lake will want to plan extra travel time.

From 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, and 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, the road will be reduced to one lane approaching Alder Cutoff Road East. The lane reduction creates a work zone for Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance teams to make pavement repairs.

Travelers can expect stops of up to 15 minutes while flaggers alternate one-way traffic during repairs.

This work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if it rains.

Whenever near work zones please:

  • Slow down – drive the posted speeds for worker and traveler safety.
  • Be kind – workers are out there helping to keep people safe and improve the roadways.
  • Pay attention – both to workers directing travelers and surrounding traffic.
  • Stay calm – expect delays, leave early or take alternate routes if possible.
