Survey work in Puyallup requires lane and ramp closures on SR 167 and SR 410, June 18-21
PUYALLUP – Overnight lane closures and a ramp closure will affect several state routes in Puyallup beginning the evening of Thursday, June 18. The closures will occur on State Route 167 and SR 410. They allow contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation to safely complete survey work in the area and prepare for an upcoming traffic shift on southbound SR 167. This work is part of the SR 167 Completion Project.
SR 167 lane closure information
- 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18 to 5 a.m. Friday, June 19 – One lane of southbound SR 167 will close from SR 410 to North Meridian Avenue. One lane remains open.
- 8 p.m. Saturday, June 20 to 9 a.m. Sunday, June 21 – One lane of southbound SR 167 will close from SR 410 to North Meridian Avenue. One lane remains open.
- 11 p.m. Saturday, June 20 to 9 a.m. Sunday, June 21 – One lane of northbound SR 167 will close from SR 161/North Meridian Avenue to SR 410. One lane remains open.
Westbound SR 410 to southbound SR 167 ramp lane closure information
- 10 p.m. Saturday, June 20 to 4 a.m. Sunday, June 21 – One lane of westbound SR 410 to southbound SR 167 ramp will close. One lane remains open.
Southbound SR 167 to westbound SR 512 ramp closure information
- 10 p.m. Saturday, June 20 to 4 a.m. Sunday, June 21 – The ramp connecting southbound SR 167 to westbound SR 512 will be closed. Drivers will follow a signed detour.

People are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternative routes and use caution while driving near the work zone.
SR 167 Completion Project information
The SR 167 Completion Project builds 6 miles of new tolled highway between Puyallup and the Port of Tacoma. Crews are building the new expressway in stages, the first of which completed the Wapato Way East bridge and SR 99 roundabout in Fife. The second stage builds the expressway between I-5 and the Port of Tacoma and is scheduled to open in September.
Work on the third stage between SR 161/North Meridian Avenue and SR 410 began in 2025. Construction of the last stage between North Meridian Avenue and I-5 is scheduled to begin in July. The entire project is planned for completion by 2030.
Puget Sound Gateway Program overview
The SR 167 Completion Project is part of WSDOT’s Puget Sound Gateway Program, which also includes the SR 509 Completion Project in south King County. Together, the two projects complete critical missing links in Washington’s highway and freight network.
