Two weekends of Northeast 85th Street lane reductions for City of Kirkland waterline work begins April 24-27

Lane reductions will continue Friday, May 1 to Sunday, May 3

KIRKLAND – Eastside travelers should plan for lane reductions on Northeast 85th Street near the Interstate 405 interchange for two weekends, April 24-27 and May 1-3. Crews will install a new waterline for the City of Kirkland.

Closure details

Westbound and eastbound Northeast 85th Street will be reduced to one lane from Northeast 114th Street to the southbound I-405 off-ramp on the following dates:

  • 9 p.m. Friday, April 24 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27
  • 9 p.m. Friday, May 1 to 5 a.m. Sunday, May 3

All I-405 ramps will remain open during the closures.

Travelers are advised to slow down and follow signage to get through the interchange. Uniformed police officers will be at the Northeast 114th intersection and the southbound I-405 ramps to direct traffic.

Closures on I-405 and SR 18 are also scheduled for April 24-27. Travelers should expect delays and backups along alternate routes and throughout the I-405 corridor.

“Know before you go," travel during off-peak hours or, if possible, delay discretionary travel to help minimize backups.
