 April 15, 2026
The first full closure of State Route 9 for the SR 9 Marsh Road to Second Street Widening and Bridge Painting project will take place from 9 p.m. Friday April 17, through 5 a.m. Monday April 20, 2026.
During this closure construction crews working for Washington State Separtment of Transportation will set up a work zone on the west side of SR 9. Once set up, this work zone will allow us to begin the widening work on SR 9 to expand the existing two-lane configuration to four lanes between Marsh Road and Second Avenue, while disrupting traffic as little as possible.
Another planned full closure will happen when we shift traffic onto the new bridge over the Snohomish River, to begin repairing and repainting the existing steel truss bridge.
This closure will be later in the project, once the new bridge is completed.
