CORRECTION: Only northbound I-405 in Kirkland will have overnight lane reductions from Friday, Jan. 9 to Saturday, Jan. 10. The travel advisory has been updated below.

I-405 and eastbound SR 522 overnight lane reductions in Bothell and Kirkland, Jan. 9-11

BOTHELL – Drivers should plan for overnight lane reductions on eastbound State Route 522 in Bothell, Jan. 9-11, and northbound Interstate 405 in Kirkland, Jan. 9-10.

Crews will add a third lane to eastbound SR 522 at the I-405/SR 522 interchange and to the northbound I-405 on-ramp to westbound SR 522 as part of the I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project. Crews will also be setting bridge girders as part of the I-405/Northeast 85th Street Interchange and Inline BRT Station Project.

Eastbound SR 522 overnight closure details 

One lane of eastbound SR 522 will be closed overnight from Campus Way Northeast to near I-405 starting 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9 to 7 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 and 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 to 7 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 11.

The following ramps may also be closed overnight and detours will be in place:

  • Northbound I-405 off-ramp to eastbound and westbound SR 522 (Exit 23)
  • Southbound I-405 off-ramp to eastbound SR 522 (Exit 23)
  • Eastbound SR 522 on-ramp to southbound I-405
  • Northeast 160th Street on-ramp to SR 522

Northbound I-405 overnight closure in Kirkland details

Up to two lanes of northbound I-405 in Kirkland will be closed overnight from milepost 15.2 to milepost 18.7 starting 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9 to 4 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10.

The following will also be closed:

  • Up to two lanes of eastbound and westbound Northeast 85th Street
  • All on-/off-ramps at Northeast 85th Street (Exit 18)

Travelers are advised northbound Interstate 5 in Seattle will also be closed from Jan. 9-12 as part of the Revive I-5 - Ship Canal Bridge preservation project

People traveling are advised to “know before you go," travel during off-peak hours or, if possible, delay discretionary travel to help minimize backups.
