Eastbound I-90 to close Friday night, June 13, between Seattle and Mercer Island
SEATTLE – Eastbound Interstate 90 will close from 10 p.m. Friday, June 13, until 6 a.m. Saturday, June 14, from Seattle to Mercer Island.
In addition to the bridge closure, several ramps will close at 8:30 p.m. Friday:
- The southbound I-5 on-ramp to eastbound I-90.
- The northbound and southbound Rainier Avenue South on-ramps to eastbound I-90.
- The I-90 to West Mercer Way off-ramp.
- These ramps will reopen by 6 a.m. Saturday, June 14.
Washington State Department of Transportation tunnel maintenance crews will perform preservation work in the Mount Baker and Mercer Island Lid tunnels during the lane reduction.
The work includes testing the fire suppression system, cleaning the lights and drains, marking drains and road sweeping.
