Southbound I-5 reduced to a single lane Thursday in Bellingham, Ferndale for daytime maintenance
BELLINGHAM – One lane of southbound Interstate 5 will close in two separate work zones Thursday, June 5, between Ferndale and Bellingham. During the daytime lane reductions Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will replace and maintain signs.
Closure details:
- From 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. the right lane of southbound I-5 will close near Bakerview Road (between milepost 258 and 257) in Bellingham for overhead sign replacement.
- From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the left lane of southbound I-5 will close south of West Smith Road (milepost 261) in Ferndale for electrical sign maintenance.
People traveling in the area should expect delays and help keep the crew safe by slowing down and driving without distractions.
