Northbound SR 529 closes in north Everett for four days, starting Friday night, May 9
Contractor crews will use 24-hour-a-day closure to complete mechanical repairs on Steamboat Slough Bridge
EVERETT – Northbound State Route 529 will close for four days at the Steamboat Slough Bridge starting at 11 p.m. Friday, May 9, so Washington State Department of Transportation contractor crews can make mechanical repairs to the structure.
The northbound highway will be closed until 11 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, from Steamboat Slough to Marysville. People still can use northbound SR 529 to reach Smith Island north of downtown Everett but will only be able to leave the island via southbound SR 529. During the closure, a shuttle will carry pedestrians, cyclists and mobility device users around the closure.
Closures to work on the southbound SR 529 Steamboat Slough Bridge are tentatively scheduled for May 16-20 and May 30-June 3.
