I-5 lane will close in Bellingham for daytime maintenance, Monday, April 28 to Thursday, May 1
BELLINGHAM – One lane of Interstate 5 in Bellingham will close daily, from 1 a.m. to noon, Monday, April 28 through Thursday, May 1, as Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews work on the freeway’s shoulder.
Closure details:
- Monday, April 28: The left lane of southbound I-5 between Bakerview (milepost 258) and State Route 542/Sunset Drive (milepost 255).
- Tuesday, April 29: The left lane of southbound I-5 between Iowa Street (milepost 254) and south of Samish Way (milepost 251).
- Wednesday, April 30: The left lane of northbound I-5 between SR 11/Chuckanut Drive (milepost 250) and Iowa Street (milepost 254).
- Thursday, May 1: The left lane of northbound I-5 between Iowa Street (milepost 254) and Bakerview (milepost 258).
People traveling in the area should expect delays and do their part to keep the road crew safe, like driving slowly and removing distractions.
