WSDOT Travel Advisory: Eastbound I-90 to close Friday night, March 14, between Seattle and Mercer Island

Eastbound I-90 to close Friday night, March 14, between Seattle and Mercer Island

SEATTLE – Eastbound Interstate 90 will close from 10 p.m. Friday, March 14, until 6 a.m. Saturday, March 15, from Seattle to Mercer Island.

In addition to the bridge closure, several ramps will close at 8:30 p.m. Friday:  

  • The southbound I-5 on-ramp to eastbound I-90. 
  • The northbound and southbound Rainier Avenue South on-ramps to eastbound I-90.  
  • The I-90 to West Mercer Way off-ramp.
  • These ramps will reopen by 6 a.m. Saturday, March 15. 

Washington State Department of Transportation tunnel maintenance crews will perform maintenance in the Mount Baker and Mercer Island Lid tunnels during the lane reduction.

The work includes testing the fire suppression system, cleaning the lights and drains, marking drains and road sweeping.
