SR 520 bridge and ramps closed across Lake Washington nightly on Jan. 21, 22 and 23 (eastbound access to Montlake only)

SR 520 bridge and ramps closed across Lake Washington nightly on Jan. 21, 22 and 23 (eastbound access to Montlake only)

Crews will close the SR 520 bridge and its associated on- and off-ramps across Lake Washington tonight, Jan. 21, as well as on Wednesday night, Jan. 22, and Thursday night, Jan. 23. Each nightly closure will begin at 9 p.m. and end by 5 a.m. the following morning. Please note the specific closure details listed below: 

  • SR 520 westbound: SR 520 closed across Lake Washington between 92nd Avenue Northeast in Clyde Hill and I-5 in Seattle.
  • SR 520 eastbound: SR 520 closed between Montlake Boulevard in Seattle and 92nd Avenue Northeast in Clyde Hill. Note: Travelers from I-5 heading eastbound on SR 520 will need to exit at Montlake Boulevard.

These closures are needed to continue testing and inspecting the lighting and fire suppression systems under the Montlake Lid. The SR 520 Trail will stay open during these nightly closures.


Daytime lane closure on Boyer Avenue East tomorrow, Jan. 22 and Thursday, Jan. 23

Heads up! Boyer Avenue East, between East Roanoke Street and Everett Avenue East, will be reduced to a single lane for utility work from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 22 and Thursday, Jan. 23. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. Pedestrians should follow signed detours.

This closure is part of the Portage Bay Bridge and Roanoke Lid Project. Travelers are advised to expect delays and consider alternate routes. Please note there is additional unrelated construction on Boyer Avenue East by the Seattle Department of Transportation.
