In this update:

Construction begins on the final chapter of SR 520 Corridor: Portage Bay Bridge and Roanoke Lid Project

Construction is now underway on the final major project on the SR 520 Corridor. Neighbors should expect to hear noise and feel vibrations from pile-driving. There will also be lane closures on city streets and increased truck traffic on designated haul routes.

Portage Bay Project construction meeting tonight

It’s not too late to attend the second Portage Bay Bridge Project monthly meeting held virtually at 5:30 p.m. tonight. You’ll learn about current and upcoming work, including vegetation removal, anticipated local street and trail effects, preparing for upcoming utility work and updates on the 10th Avenue East and Delmar Drive East overpasses. A Q&A session will follow. Submit questions in advance to sr520bridge@wsdot.wa.gov.

  • Nov 11-14: Westbound SR 520 off-ramp to Lake Washington Boulevard closed nightly
  • Nov. 16: Westbound SR 520 off-ramp to Montlake Boulevard closed overnight
  • Nov. 16: Montlake Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound SR 520 closed overnight
  • Nov. 17: East Park Drive East closed between 24th Avenue East and East Hamlin Street during daytime
  • Nov. 18: Westbound SR 520 off-ramp to Lake Washington Boulevard closed overnight
  • Nov. 18: HOV ramps to and from the Montlake Lid closed overnight
  • Nov. 19-21: SR 520 fully closed in both directions across Lake Washington nightly
  • Ongoing: Montlake Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound SR 520 closed weeknights
