In this update:

SR 520 bridge and associated ramps closed across Lake Washington nightly on Oct. 29, 30 and 31

Crews will close the SR 520 bridge across Lake Washington on the nights of Oct. 29, Oct. 30 and Oct. 31. These closures will start at 9 p.m. each night and finish by 5 a.m. the following morning. See below for special closure limits:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 29, and Wednesday, Oct. 30:
    • SR 520 westbound: SR 520 is fully closed across Lake Washington between 92nd Avenue Northeast in Clyde Hill and I-5 in Seattle.
    • SR 520 eastbound: SR 520 is closed between Montlake Boulevard in Seattle and 92nd Avenue Northeast in Clyde Hill. Note: Travelers from I-5 heading eastbound on SR 520 will need to exit at Montlake Boulevard.
  • Thursday, Oct. 31: SR 520 is fully closed in both directions between I-5 in Seattle and 92nd Avenue Northeast in Clyde Hill.

Work during these closures includes paving, landscaping, striping, and testing lighting and fire systems. Plan ahead for alternate routes.

The SR 520 Trail will stay open during these closures.

Heads up: More SR 520 overnight closures next week

We're making great progress on the Montlake Project, but overnight closures will continue next week to keep the project on track towards completion. For the latest updates, check our Construction Corner and keep an eye on your inbox and our X/Twitter page.

Signs of progress: New SR 520/I-5 HOV ramp nears the finish line!

This past weekend crews reached a major milestone for the SR 520/I-5 Express Lanes Connection Project by installing the new signs above the I-5 on-ramps at Mercer Street. These new signs allow drivers to clearly see when the new HOV 3+ ramp for the express lanes is open and when it is not. The new ramp is tentatively scheduled to open in November. Stay tuned for more updates about this project as it nears completion!
