US 2 between SR 9 and 88th Street Southeast to close for maintenance Friday night, Oct. 11, in Snohomish

Snohomish – Both directions of US 2 will close between State Route 9 and 88th Street Southeast in Snohomish from 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, to 2 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. A signed detour will take drivers around the closure via SR 9 and Second Street.

Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will perform survey work in support of the US 2/Sexton Creek to Pilchuck River Fish Passage project. Before reopening they will sweep the highway, and clean roadway and bridge drains in preparation for the rainy and colder months ahead.

Busy road construction weekend
The short overnight closure of US 2 in Snohomish takes place during a busy weekend of road construction work around the Puget Sound region. Weekend closures and overnight lane reductions are also planned for Interstate 5 in Seattle and between Federal Way and Fife, the SR 99 tunnel in Seattle and SR 520 across Lake Washington.
