Northbound I-5 SeaTac rest closures resume Friday, Oct. 4, in Federal Way

FEDERAL WAY – The northbound Interstate 5 SeaTac rest area will close for a second straight weekend starting Friday, Oct. 4, in Federal Way. It will close again one week later, this time for 11 days beginning Friday, Oct 11.

People traveling on I-5 through Federal Way should expect the SeaTac rest area to close at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, until 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7.

This closure is necessary to support overnight full closures of both directions of I-5 between State Route 18 in Federal Way and 54th Avenue East in Fife, which are part of the project to complete SR 167.

The final planned, 11-day closure of the SeaTac rest area will be from 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, to 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21. Washington State Department of Transportation crews will perform maintenance work during this closure.

People can find other rest areas on the WSDOT website.
