Northbound I-5 SeaTac rest closures start Friday, Sept. 27, in Federal Way

FEDERAL WAY – The northbound Interstate 5 SeaTac rest area will close for two weekends, then 11 days in a row, starting Friday, Sept. 27, until Monday, Oct. 21, in Federal Way.

People traveling on I-5 through Federal Way should expect the following SeaTac rest area closures:

  • 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 until 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7.

These closures are necessary to support overnight full closures of both directions of I-5 between State Route 18 in Federal Way and 54th Avenue East in Fife each weekend, which are part of the project to complete SR 167.

The final planned SeaTac rest area closure will last 11 days, from 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, until 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21. Washington State Department of Transportation crews will perform maintenance work during this closure.
