SR 202 lane reductions Sept. 9-13 before five-day full closure to install fish passage near Redmond

REDMOND – The eastbound State Route 202 right turn lane to westbound Northeast 124th Street will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Monday through Friday, Sept. 9-13, just north of Redmond. Right turns still will be allowed from the eastbound SR 202 through lane, but people should follow signs and instructions from workers.

During the daytime lane reductions, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will remove light poles and cut barriers to prepare for installation of a new fish-passable culvert. The new culvert will improve the streambed beneath SR 202/Redmond-Woodinville Road Northeast and remove barriers that prevented access to fish habitat in two creeks. The new 81-foot-by-27-foot three-sided concrete culvert will be placed during a five-day full closure of both directions of SR 202.

Five-day full closure
Beginning at 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, through noon Friday, Sept. 20, both directions of SR 202 will close north of Northeast 124th Street. Signed detours between Redmond and Woodinville will use Northeast 124th Street, Interstate 405 and SR 522. People walking, biking or rolling should use the Sammamish River Trail.

Access to businesses and residences along SR 202 north of Northeast 124th Street will remain open, but people should approach from Woodinville and add time to their travel plans during the Sept. 15-20 closure.
