Westbound SR 18 to close for four nights starting July 15 near Snoqualmie for pavement repairs

SNOQUALMIE – Westbound State Route 18 will close for up to four nights beginning Monday, July 15, for pavement repairs south of Snoqualmie. No westbound traffic will be allowed over Tiger Mountain summit during the work, and only local traffic will be allowed south of the eastbound Interstate 90 on- and off-ramps.

From 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly Monday, July 15, through Friday morning, July 19, contractor crews will grind down damaged areas of pavement along the 5-mile section of westbound SR 18 between Deep Creek and Issaquah-Hobart Road and repair them with new asphalt. The work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled.

Westbound SR 18 detours
People heading westbound during the nightly closures should follow one of two detours:

  • Freight: All semi-trucks and freight traffic should use westbound I-90 to southbound I-405. Freight traffic should not use city streets or Issaquah-Hobart Road, as these streets are not suitable for freight traffic.
  • Passenger vehicles: Other vehicles may use westbound I-90 to southbound Front Street to southbound Issaquah-Hobart Road.

Crews recently completed pavement repairs along eastbound SR 18 as part of a regional pavement repair project working to create a smoother ride and help extend the lifetime of several highways.
