Please please please: do's and don'ts for the 4th of July week

Don't set the state on fire.

The sun is SHINING and we had a short week  with a lot of folks taking a long holiday weekend. We won't have any best-times-to-travel charts for July 4th but expect plenty of holiday traffic starting today through the weekend--we expect a lot of folks to be on the roads!

Do your Independence Day weekend travel plans include a ferry ride? Double check our sailing schedules as many routes are operating on timetables different timetables: wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/

While construction is paused for the holiday weekend, you may still see maintenance crews and emergency responders out there so please be alert, focused, slow down and give them room. Additionally, some of our emergency projects across the region will continue through the holiday weekend, so be sure you check the travel map for updates and look at our traffic cameras along your route before you head out.

Please please

Construction, maintenance and special events

Road work ahead

We often have special events and roadwork taking place in the Northend, including construction projects, maintenance and repairs. We always try to minimize any effects to travel, but sometimes it is necessary to close a lane to do the work or create a safe work zone for our crews.

While we aren't doing a lot of roadwork this week, our crews will still be out monitoring and keeping the roads safe. If you spot them, slow down and give them space to work! A huge thanks to our crews for all their hard work through the holidays.

Want more information? Visit our real time travel center, where these projects and repairs can be found on our travel map, and download our app to receive alerts directly to your smartphone.
