Southbound I-5 reduced to single lane Wednesday night, May 29, south of Bellingham for guardrail repair

BELLINGHAM – People traveling southbound on Interstate 5 south of Bellingham should expect to see overnight single-lane closures from 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, until 5 a.m. Thursday, May 30. The southbound I-5 lane reductions will include:

  • The right lane south of State Route 11/Old Fairhaven Parkway (between mileposts 250 and 249).
  • The left lane on southbound I-5 between Nulle Road (milepost 243) and south of Nulle Road (milepost 242) will close.

The lane reduction will allow Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews to safely perform necessary guardrail repairs along I-5. People should plan for additional travel time.
