I-405 off-ramp in Tukwila to close Sunday night, May 19, as regional repair project wraps up

TUKWILA – The southbound Interstate 405 off-ramp to State Route 181/West Valley Highway/Interurban Avenue South will close from 9 p.m. Sunday, May 19, to 4:30 a.m. Monday, May 20, for pavement crack sealing in Tukwila.

A signed detour will be available using the Southcenter Boulevard off-ramp during Sunday night’s closure.

The work is weather dependent, but it represents the last area included in a regional project that is sealing cracks and repairing pavement to help preserve the roadway and create a smoother ride.

Since the project resumed earlier this spring, contractors working for the Washington State Department of Transportation have completed work at 24 other on- and off-ramps in King and Snohomish counties. Last fall, the project sealed cracks along a 5-mile stretch of SR 18 between Issaquah-Hobart Road and Deep Creek.
