Sidewalk on east side of Montlake Boulevard closed for 12 hours this Saturday, April 20

Heads up for our pedestrians and cyclists: crews will close the sidewalk on the east side of Montlake Boulevard for 12 hours on Saturday, April 20, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The sidewalk will be closed between East Shelby Street and Lake Washington Boulevard. All pedestrians and cyclists will detour at East Shelby Street or Lake Washington Boulevard to the sidewalk on the west side of Montlake Boulevard.

Crews will use the closure to pour concrete for the curbs along the east side of Montlake Boulevard.

The “Ramps to Nowhere” are “No more”

The unused ramp in the Washington Park Arboretum has been fully removed. Over the past two months, 182 trucks hauled out approximately 5,096 tons of debris as crews demolished the structure.

Stay tuned for more information soon about the final piece of these ramps that will stay standing and be turned into a future monument.
