This weekend, crews will close southbound Montlake Boulevard between East Hamlin Street and East Louisa Street starting tonight at 10 p.m. Friday, March 22, until 5 a.m. Monday, March 25. During the closure, at least one lane of northbound Montlake Boulevard will remain open, but travelers should expect delays. More details in the next section.

New day, new way: Left turn access from northbound Montlake Boulevard onto westbound SR 520 starts on Monday morning!

Don't forget that when Montlake Boulevard fully reopens Monday morning, March 25, it will be a “new day with a new way” for northbound drivers wanting to access westbound SR 520.

During the weekend closure, crews will close two lanes of northbound Montlake Boulevard near the SR 520 interchange to install new traffic signals that will allow northbound traffic to turn left onto westbound SR 520. Southbound lanes will also see a new traffic signal at this intersection.

Crews will also close the Bill Dawson Trail, the bike and pedestrian path under SR 520, from 10 p.m. tonight, Friday, March 22, to 6 a.m. on Monday, March 25. The trail is closed between East Calhoun Street and Montlake Boulevard. This weekend closure is needed so crews can complete paving along the trail. Trail users should plan to use alternate routes.
