Multiple I-5 overnight lane and ramp closures scheduled in Bellingham, Jan. 30-Feb.1
BELLINGHAM – People traveling on Interstate 5 in Bellingham should plan for right lane and on-ramp closures near SR 542/E Sunset Drive and Iowa Street. Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close the right lane to make repairs to guardrail and conduct roadside maintenance.
Closures include:
- From 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 until 4 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, on northbound I-5 near Iowa Street (milepost 254) the right lane and northbound on-ramp (exit 254) will close.
- From 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31 until 4 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 on southbound I-5 the right lane and southbound SR 542/E Sunset Drive on-ramp (exit 255) will close.
The lane reductions and ramp closures will allow crews to safely perform necessary repair work on I-5. People should plan for additional travel time.
