In this update:
The first weekend closure of 2024 along SR 520 is coming up right after the new year, so you’ll want to plan ahead now.
Over the Jan. 5-8 weekend, crews will close the westbound SR 520 off-ramps to both Montlake and Lake Washington boulevards, as well as the Montlake Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound SR 520. The ramps will close at 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5 and reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8.
 Westbound SR 520 drivers will need to use the Roanoke Street and I-5 exits. Drivers on Montlake Boulevard wanting to go eastbound will access SR 520 from I-5 in Seattle or take alternate routes.
During the closure crews will install drainage along those ramps. The SR 520 Trail and the SR 520 mainline will remain open.

Crews recently adjusted signage to help better explain the new exit path for westbound drivers wanting to get to northbound Montlake Boulevard.
Here’s a graphic with the ramp’s new location:
 Note the decision point for westbound drivers, shown by the arrow. At that juncture, motorists wanting to go to Montlake Boulevard need to stay left at the fork. Drivers heading to Lake Washington Boulevard should continue on the right fork.
One more note: The final ramp configuration, opening in the spring, will be in a much better, more intuitive configuration.
