Join us for an informational session on our upcoming application for a nighttime noise variance for the Portage Bay Bridge replacement project

Major construction on the Portage Bay Bridge and Roanoke Lid Project is scheduled to begin in 2024 and we’d like to hear from you. Because some work will occur at night, WSDOT will apply for a Major Public Project Construction Noise Variance (MPPCNV) from the city of Seattle.

This variance will establish noise limits for nighttime construction activities. Our application will include plans for limiting noise in the community. Working at night prioritizes the safety of the public and our crews, shortens the construction duration and reduces costs to taxpayers. We’d like to hear your input and answer your questions at our upcoming online meeting.

When: 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12.
