Prepare for Holiday Shipping

Please review the Holiday Shipping Calendar when planning your vaccine ordering over the next few weeks. Please notice the limited and no shipping days and ensure you are ordering enough to get through the limited shipping days. We are still approving up to 45-day supply of vaccine. Please ensure you keep enough inventory on hand in case of shipping delays, but not too much that a power outage may create extensive loss.

Together, these resources walk providers through the ordering process and offer a quick reference for placing accurate, timely orders. The session also covers the latest respiratory season updates, including current guidance and what providers should know when ordering respiratory vaccines in the months ahead.

Date: November 19, 2026

Time: 12:00 p.m. PDT

RSV Administration is Slowing

RSV Administration is slowing. It is an important time to begin adjusting your RSV order quantities to account for the slowing administration. Please adjust your orders to align with recommended order quantity (ROQ) and decreasing demand. You can see the latest data on the Respiratory Immunization Data Dashboard.

Enflonsia Administration, Storage & Handling Tip

Enflonsia is a high-cost RSV product so we recommend having a robust process in place to confirm twice that the parent/guardian wants their child to receive RSV prior to attaching the needle for administration.  Enflonsia should be removed from the storage unit approximately 15 minutes prior to administration to allow the syringe to reach room temperature.

If a patient changes their mind and declines the dose before administration, the syringe may be returned to the storage unit, provided the needle has not been attached. However, it is essential to track the cumulative amount of time the syringe has been kept at room temperature.

Maximum Allowable Room-Temperature Exposure: 48 Hours

Each time the syringe is removed from storage and subsequently returned, calculate the total time it was outside the storage unit and subtract that amount from the remaining 48-hour allowance.

Example:

  • Date and time removed: 10/9/2026 at 8:00 AM
  • Date and time returned: 10/9/2026 at 8:15 AM
  • Total time outside storage: 15 minutes
  • Remaining room-temperature allowance: 47 hours, 45 minutes

This process must be repeated each time the syringe is removed from and returned to storage. Once the cumulative room-temperature exposure reaches 48 hours (remaining balance of zero), the syringe must no longer be used and should be discarded.

Important: Needle Attachment and Contamination Prevention

The 48-hour room-temperature allowance does not apply once a needle has been attached to the syringe. If a patient declines the vaccine after the needle has been attached, the dose must be discarded and cannot be returned to storage.

As a best practice, do not attach the needle to the syringe until immediately before administration. Enflonsia is a preservative-free solution, and keeping a syringe assembled with an attached needle, particularly at room temperature, increases the potential risk of contamination.

Staff Reminder: Always document the date and time the syringe is removed from and returned to storage, maintain an accurate cumulative room-temperature exposure record, and ensure the remaining allowable time is not exceeded.

COVID Order Processing Moves to Daily

COVID vaccine orders will now be uploaded to CDC for processing daily as our allocation has stabilized. Flu and RSV vaccines are also on a daily processing schedule. Please visit our Respiratory Season Resources page for more information.

Helpful Hint: Ordering More than ROQ?

If ordering quantities above your recommended order quantity (ROQ), please place a comment in your order to let us know why. We are doing our best to avoid excess vaccine in the field, however, we are also hearing your feedback that orders are being reduced, and clinics are struggling to maintain supply. We hear you!

Please ensure you are working closely with your Provider Support Specialist for orders that are above your recommended order quantities. This will ensure we can meet your needs and avoid waste. Thank you for your understanding!
