You may be contacted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of a routine delivery verification process. Most of the vaccines that are ordered through the Childhood Vaccine Program are shipped by the CDC's centralized vaccine distributor, McKesson. However, some vaccines are direct shipped to you from the manufacturer. To ensure those deliveries are completed correctly, CDC contacts a random sample of providers to verify that the correct quantities and vaccine products were successfully delivered to the provider site. This process helps ensure vaccines are delivered accurately and maintains the integrity of the vaccine program.
Please ensure your staff are informed of this verification process and that verification calls are routed to the vaccine coordinators or other appropriate staff. If unable to reach the appropriate staff after two telephone attempts, an email will be sent. Any questions can be directed to WAChildhoodVaccines@doh.wa.gov.
COVID vaccine is still available to order and will remain open as long as there are lots with ≥ 30 days until expiry available to ship. Providers should first check Vaccine Advertisements for available vaccine transfers in the community before placing an order.
If you need to place an order, please keep the short shelf life in mind and limit orders to a 30-day supply.
Vaccine Choice is open for CVP providers from June 1 through July 3, 2026. During this time, you can request changes to the vaccine brands you order for routine childhood vaccines when multiple products are available.
All providers must submit a Vaccine Choice form to select RSV and/or COVID-19 vaccine order sets for the upcoming season.
For influenza vaccine, please rank products in order of preference. Ranking products helps us request vaccine that providers are most likely to use.
Important Reminders
-
Penbraya is only available to providers receiving Trumenba as their MenB vaccine
-
Penmenvy is only available to providers receiving Bexsero as their MenB vaccine
- If a vaccine does not appear on the Vaccine Choice Worksheet, only one brand is available and is included on all order sets

Completed forms should be submitted by email to WAChildhoodVaccines@doh.wa.gov.

As of April 2026, the Childhood and Adult Vaccine Programs use the New Vaccine Loss Survey (VLS) in REDCap for providers to report vaccine loss.
If you report a monthly vaccine loss of $2,500 or more in WAIIS, you will receive a REDCap Vaccine Loss Survey link by email on the first Wednesday of each month.
For further guidance, refer to the CVP Training Series: Process Update and New Vaccine Loss Survey Video | Training Slides (PDF)
Important: Continue to display the Vaccine Loss Log near your storage units to track monthly waste, and retain the form for three years. You no longer need to submit the log by email.
A few extra seconds can save everyone time! When recording temperatures below zero, be sure to include the negative ( - ) sign to avoid follow-up questions and corrections. When reviewing feedback emails from REDCap, remember to scroll to the bottom - your Provider Support Specialist has likely included notes explaining what needs to be addressed. Taking a moment to review those comments can help resolve issues faster and reduce back-and-forth.
